Beauty Security for your wedding

When it comes to planning your wedding hair and makeup, think about using a team that has the network of several hundred people, just incase!

Columbus Traveling Beauty Team started when Christine Carpenter started working within the Salon Lofts organization. Salon Lofts is the largest salon/ spa company that allows independent hairstyles, estatician (works with skin care and makeup), and nail professionals all to rent an area of space within one of their salons. As of June 2014, there are over 50 locations throughout Ohio (Columbus, Cincinnati, Cleveland, and Dayton), Florida (Tampa), Indiana (Indianapolis), Missouri (St. Louis), and Georgia (Atlanta). There are around 1100 artists within the Salon Lofts organization.

On your wedding day, you don't want to have to worry if your hair and makeup are going to be taken care of if something happens to your artist. We have come across several independent artists that have had their child get very sick and no one to take care of them (except their mother), a death in the family (causing the artist to have to cancel to go out of town), or just being sick.

The great thing about the ladies of Columbus Traveling Beauty Team, if anything were to happen to anyone of them, we have others in our team that can take over, and if they happen to be booked, we have an entire network that we know and trust to get the bride taken care of.

We also have an entire network of wedding professionals that we can assist you with other aspects of your wedding. We know several event planners (which is handy to have for your day of the wedding, "just in case"), photographers, cake places, florists, videographers, etc....  If you have any questions, we are happy to assist you with them. We do like to consider ourselves at the concierge beauty artists (meaning help in any way we can!).

Let the team that has the power to always help you out for your wedding, without the worry. Let Columbus Traveling Beauty Team be your go to hair (hairstyling and extensions), airbrush makeup (or traditional), and nail team.

Time is a valuable thing to waste, especially when it comes to weddings!

If you have ever been involved with the behind the scene of a wedding, you know that everything come to down to good timing.

When we here at Columbus Traveling Beauty Team are asked to do work for a bride to be (and bridal party members, too), we make sure to ask how many people are getting services. At 3 weeks before the wedding we have the bride take care of the total balance of all the party members. This way we know exactly how many people we need to take with us to make sure that everyone gets ready in a timely manor.

Starting out, we used to wait until the day of to collect the balance. We have shown up thinking we were going to do 5 people and here 5 more decided to get their hair or makeup done, then we would wait for everyone to have to pay us. It took up so much time waiting on payments, we felt like everyone was running behind.

Once we started collecting in full, everything ran so much more efficiently. Our aim to get the party members completed in less than 3 hours, no matter how big the party size is. Because we do wedding parties, most weekends during wedding season, our team knows how to make everyone look and feel their best in a short period of time.

When it comes to looking for the best wedding (bridal) hairstylist (that also specializes in affordable hair extensions), airbrush makeup (and traditional makeup), and nail artists that travels throughout Ohio, that keeps your party running on time, check out the award winning team of Columbus Traveling Beauty Team!

Tips for preparing for your big day!

To makeup sure your hair and makeup look best on your wedding day, follow these tips.

Hair:
  • ·      Don’t shampoo your hair on the day of (neither should any of your other party members)
  • ·      Don’t try anything new on your hair care products at home the last week before your wedding (just incase if it cases you to break out.
  • ·      Don’t flat iron your hair after your last shampoo before your big day so curls will actually stay in your hair.
  • ·      Do highlight 2 weeks before your wedding at the latest so you don’t show up too bright on the day of. (also, you’ll have time to get it corrected if it comes out too light)
  • ·      All over color should be applied 1 week before your wedding at the latest.

Makeup:
  • ·      Make sure to let your artist know any allergies you have, and if any product did not work for you during your trial (if you had one)
  • ·      Get waxed 3 days before your wedding at the latest so that your skin is somewhat back to normal and makeup will take to your skin properly.
  • ·      Do NOT spray tan the week of your wedding. Don’t want to see anyone orange in pictures or streaky at all.
  • ·      Make sure to start exfoliating your face once a week until 1 week before your wedding.
  • ·      When looking in the mirror, you might think your makeup looks like there is a lot, but the camera actually takes 25% of the color out of your face. We can take a picture with our phones to show you how you might turn out in pictures.
  • ·      If you are getting tattoos covered, please shave those areas (if you are able to) and do not moisturize in those areas (so the cover up will go on smoothly and look natual).
  • ·      Make sure to moisturize your knees and elbows so they don’t look dull that day (coconut oil works great)
  • ·      You can use a mixture of Coconut oil and granulated sugar as a good lip and facial scrub. (really helps remove makeup too). And anyother dry areas on the body.
  • ·      Avoid salty food (makes you retain water, especially in the face) carbonated sodas (if possible,), lots of dairy (can upset an anxious stomach), beans (can bloat you) and starchy foods (can cause bloating and gas). I know, not much fun.
  • ·      Get plenty of sleep the night before and drink plenty of water the last few days before your wedding and on the day of.

Arrange to have a trial for hair and makeup within 1-2 months of your wedding so that your hair and skin are close to the condition they will be on your wedding day. If you do a trial before then you can at least see the work of the artist, but keep in mind all of the changes that might occur between now and then.
