Busy November

Busy month! We've already had at least one wedding every weekend this month, along with a military ball and a fashion show. We will be looking at updating on here a little more (our new years promise).

Next week brings a job for 5 makeup artists heading out to the Victoria Secret home office to do makeup on the ladies of the corporate office for their launch party of the show, coming out that evening. Should be lots of fun! Can't wait to share some more!

Preparing for some fun!

At CTBT we are looking at a very early start for our ladies. We have a couple of weddings that we are doing, as of right now but ready for others. Both parties are starting at 6:00 am. All I can say is that is one (actually two) brides that are excited about getting married. I would also say, I guess we love doing hair and makeup so much for brides, we will do whatever it takes!

Our 2 day wedding event

Friday was the actual wedding, then on Sunday we did the big reception. We really enjoyed helping her and the rest of the close friends/ family out. On day one I, Christine Carpenter, was only supposed to be doing the brides hair, then her friend loved the way the bride looked that she wanted to get her hair done.

On Sunday I was on my way down to do the brides hair (the only one scheduled) and I receive a call asking if I could do 3-4 more ladies. I said sure I could. The next thing I know, I end up doing a total of 8 people. Everyone had such nice hair, and most was very long. We did a lot of half up, half down styles. I completed everyone in a total of 4 1/2 hours.

My motto is "Always willing to help" and "go above and beyond"

Totally Steampunk!

A little Victorian with futuristic time travel makes up a little Steampunk fun. Malory wanted to bring a little excitement to her wedding and show everyone just how much fun her and her now husband can be. They all dressed up in Steampunk fashions while they tied the knot. Then when they went to their reception they had added the masquerade part. Their mask was a little Halo, how they met playing the game online.
Well, Jessica Lape, Christine Carpenter, and Lindsay Remley all helped make the party all pretty for the day. If you are into the Steampunk fun, we can help you, also.

Homecoming Girls, we are ready for you!

School has started, Football is going on, and the weather is has started turning colder, this only means one thing. Yes, it's when young couples get all dressed up to go out to homecoming dances.
Ladies have started going out to buy their dress, accessories, and pick out which friends will be hanging out for the dance. Now that is left to do is book your appointment for hair and makeup.
How would you like to make the day even more fun? Start your party hanging out with your friends and getting hair and makeup done by a group of professionals. We will come to one house to do a minimum group of 4 ladies getting hair and makeup done for $100* per person. If anyone wants to get their hair done only it's $60* per lady.
*Rates are higher for parties less than 4. If you all would like to come to our different locations to do your hair, we can arrange for that also.

These are some of the ladies we have done in the past, let us help you look just as beautiful!

Paidas Wedding

Last Saturday, Aug. 4th, the ladies of the Paidas wedding party were so happy to get their hair done! We went out to Deer Creek State park were most of the wedding party was staying to get their hair done.

Jessica Lape and Christine Carpenter came with a couple of bar stools for the ladies to sit on and a rolling bag of hair tools and accessories to make the ladies look and feel so beautiful. Most people are so amazed with all the little touches that we can add to the hairstyles to make it unique.

We had the chance to gather everyone around and talk has we did two ladies at a time. Having the wedding parties in their own comfort zone relaxes the bride, as much as possible. There they can tell all the fun stories from the past, and do some funny predictions for the future.

After we left Deer Creek the ladies headed over to the Darby House where the wedding was taking place. There they met up with Jaime Keel, our makeup artist. Jaime did airbrush makeup on the ladies, which is perfect for the hot humid day that they were facing. The ladies were warm with the weather, but they looked as clean and fresh with their makeup and hair all polished.

Emily and Matt have been together for 8 years and you can just see how much they love each other and their friends. We are so happy that we could spend some time with them getting to know them. We wish them the best of luck for the future.

One month

This Sunday July 22nd, 2012 marks 1 month since Columbus Traveling Beauty Team was formed. Before that, we mainly all just worked independently hoping that someday we could work together again.

I was doing hair so early in the morning with my old co-worker Samantha "Sami" Curmode, and having my newly discovered makeup Artist/ Lash Genius, Jaime Keel at the Holiday Inn out on the west side of Columbus. The wedding was being performed at the Darby House, which I later went to, with my things to place the veil on the bride.  I realized that as much as I would like to do everything on my own with bridal parties, it's just not reality. Larger parties I wouldn't be able to get  done in a timely manner.

I even went to a few makeup classes to see about adding that into my menu. As much fun it would be, I would never be able to do what I've seen on some of the bridal parties that I have worked on in the past. I could do it on a homecoming/ prom lady if need be, but not a bride!  Brides are starting a new life, and a bad makeup job wouldn't be a great first impression as the new Mrs.

Off to the second brides house I had to go to that day. It was only 3 people getting their hair done for this party, so I decided to do this one on my own (just the hair). There is where I met Alison Feamster, a very quite but talented makeup artist. We hit it off right away. We talked for just a few minutes about our plan of getting the ladies looking great for the wedding that was being performed at Franklin Park Conservatory. Alison really explained a lot about the makeup when she did each of the ladies faces. What colors would be best for each individual. I know my makeup classes never went over anything like that.

So, after a few hours of sleeping, I woke up at 3:00 in the morning with this brilliant idea. Why can't I just have a group of top notch hairstylist, makeup artist, and maybe even some nail ladies working together to make wedding parties and other people needing to look beautiful? Why do the brides have to do all the searching for themselves. Weddings don't need to be anymore stressful on planning, so leave it up to the professionals that have done this a time or two, so you can relax.

When we first started the name was still under my salon name plus and associates. But after talking to a couple of clients, we decided it sounded too law firm type. So off to talking to these talented ladies when Joy Macke came up with some brilliant ideas for a name, "Columbus Traveling Beauty Team" and everyone on the team loved it, we knew we had something special.

Well, with all this enthusiasm, we couldn't just keep quiet, we had to share it with everyone we knew, so it began! So, excited to share our first month together, and planning on several years, also!
